Engineers solve problems by designing, testing, and improving solutions.
What does an engineer do?
An engineer is a person who designs things to solve a problem. They might design a safer slide, a stronger bridge, or a toy that does not break.
orlandoschool.comWhat is the engineering design process?
Engineers follow steps: ask what the problem is, think of ideas, plan, build, test, then make it better.. Ask, imagine, plan, build, test, improve. Then go around again.
orlandoschool.comIs this true? A prototype is not a first try you can test.
No. A prototype is a first try you can test. It can be paper, cardboard, or clay. It does not have to be the finished thing.
orlandoschool.comWhy do engineers test their designs?
Engineers test a design to see if it works. A fair test changes only one thing so you know what made the difference.
orlandoschool.comHow do engineers improve a design?
After a test, engineers keep what worked and fix what did not.. Keep what worked. Change what broke. Test again.
orlandoschool.comIs this true? A constraint is a rule or limit, like using only 20 sticks or finishing before lunch.
Yes. Only 10 sheets of paper? That limit is a constraint. It makes you fold, not waste.
